LA Cleaning is a small, independent domestic cleaning business working in Harpenden, Batford, Wheathampstead and Westfield. It is run by Lucinda Stevens, who started it in Harpenden in 2010 and still runs it today.
Fifteen years in, most of the work still comes from recommendations. Customers who joined in the early years are still on the books, which is the only measure of a cleaning business that really counts.
It has stayed deliberately small. When you ring, you get the person who runs it, not a call centre reading from a script. When we say your clean is at ten on a Tuesday, it is at ten on a Tuesday.
It has also stayed local on purpose. A small patch means nobody is stuck in traffic on the way to your house, and it is a large part of why customers who joined in the early years are still with us.
